 How to split vector image?

I am working on a map edited in .PDF format (vector) which I managed to open in Illustrator, in order to perform some changes on it.

Now I wish to split it in several pieces. How can I do that?

Thanks

E.

If you have full Acrobat then isolate the parts of this one document into separate files, then use full acrobat to put them together in one PDF file.

If you are asking to split the vector image, then you can use Clipping Mask (but bounding box would be size of original) or Create a Pathfinder divid and trim from a master layout file.
